Who we are and what this policy covers

"The Setup" is a service provided by Kate McCormack, LLC. The Setup runs the school side of family life: we track school communications, forms, sign-ups and deadlines for client families and deliver a weekly summary and family calendar. This policy covers this website and the information you send us through it — enquiries, applications, and the client onboarding questionnaire. Once a family becomes a client, the confidentiality commitments in their signed Client Agreement also apply, and where those are stronger, they govern. Questions: kate@the-setup.com.

What we collect — and from whom

Everything collected through this website is provided directly by parents. We never collect information from children, and we never receive student data from schools.

• Enquiries and applications: your name, email, phone number, and what you choose to tell us about your family.
• Client onboarding: your contact details and neighborhood; for each child, their name, date of birth, school and grade, teacher, activities and schedule; and how your children's schools communicate with you.
• The website forms deliberately do not ask for: medical information of any kind, passwords, Social Security numbers, banking or financial information, or your home address. Please don't include them.
• School portal access: where a family chooses to share access to a school app or parent portal so we can track dates and communications, those credentials are exchanged with us directly and securely — never through this website — and are stored in an encrypted password manager, used only for that family's service, and deleted when the family leaves.

Why we collect it, and what we never do with it

We collect only what is strictly necessary to provide the service a family has asked us for. We do not sell information, we do not use it for advertising, and children's information in particular is never published, posted, made public, or shared with anyone beyond the service providers below. It is provided only by parents, used only to run that family's school year, and deleted when the relationship ends.

Who processes it on our behalf

• Formspree, Inc. — delivers website form submissions to us.
• Netlify — hosts this website.
• Google — hosts our email and each client family's private calendar, shared only with addresses the family designates.

How long we keep it

If you enquire or apply but don't become a client, we delete your information within 90 days of our last contact. For client families, the Client Agreement governs: when the relationship ends, Confidential Information is destroyed or, at your request, returned to you — with no copies kept — apart from basic business records we're required to retain.

Your choices

Ask us any time what information we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or leave the service — a note to kate@the-setup.com from the email address we have on file is all it takes.

Security

We limit access to family information to the people who need it to deliver the service, use the reputable providers listed above, and protect our accounts with commercial-grade security. Passwords are never requested or accepted through this website. Where a family has chosen to share school-portal access, those credentials live in an encrypted password manager, are used only to deliver that family's service, and are removed when the family leaves. Beyond that, we keep what we hold to the minimum the service needs — the best protection of all.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date, and active client families will be told directly of any material change.
